Do you know what stops you avoiding an uncomfortable conversation?
What drives this? It is always a fear.
Fear of what others will think.
I certainly know that I have battled with this over the years. Not wanting to let someone down, hurting someone’s feelings or worrying what the other person will think of me.
But whose responsibility, is it?
When you are confident in yourself, happy in who you are and know that you are coming from the right place you can’t get this wrong.
But if you are worried about what others think, overthinking the conversation, you are coming from a place that is disempowering yourself and letting the other person off the hook.
Conversations this week highlighted that this happens to General Managers of large international companies all the way to 15-year-old students.
How do you overcome having those conversations that make you feel uncomfortable.
Have them.
That’s where the growth happens. If you can place your attention on the other person, what their responsibilities are and keep out of your own head (where you make it about yourself ) you will find it a lot easier.
When you have the conversation you will empower yourself and gain confidence and begin to release the fear that is stopping you from moving forward in this area.
More than happy to help, just reach out.
Have a fabulous week ahead.
