What is your measure of success?

What is your measure of success?

I spoke at the FCEM World Congress in Sydney last week and shared that my measure of success has changed over the years.

For me there used to be a strong link between success and approval.

Self-approval by achievement – where I needed approval from others and how I got my fix or emotional reward or acknowledgement from others.

I am a reformed perfectionist, control freak and workaholic. I was taught that success came from what you did.

Now I believe that success is a feeling. Most people are already successful and they keep forgetting. Success isnit an outside job it is actually a feeling. And you can tap back into the feeling of success from past memories and remember how it feels.

Brene Brown said,
“Defining success is one of the most powerful things you can do as a family, as a couple, individually. There is a default definition that is, ‘money, materialism, accomplishment, and achievement.
‘So if you don’t come up with your own subversive definition, there is a default.”

SUCCESS IS A FEELING !!!! YOU ARE ALREADY SUCCESSFUL NOW. EVERYTHING YOU DO FROM THIS MOMENT IS A BONUS.

However your default conditioning of guilt, doubt, lack of self worth, lack of belief creep in and can feed the feeling of not being successful. There are events in your life where you have felt success. I want you to close your eyes and take yourself back to a moment when you experienced this.

Let the feeling wash over you.

YOU ARE A SUCCESS in this moment – and you can take this feeling with you into the future. Keep practising.

Have an amazing week ahead ⭐️⭐️

One of the hardest things to do…

One of the hardest things to do… is REST. This was something I was never really good at. I couldn’t even take five minutes out for myself without justifying how “busy” I was. It used to feel really uncomfortable to put myself first. Thankfully I have learnt how do to...

Is there ever a “right time”?

Is there ever a “right time”?

People often tell themselves  that they are  too busy, too early, too late, or I’ll start "when the time is right." But what if time isn't the problem? Nature doesn't hesitate. A tree knows when to let go of its leaves and when to grow new ones. It doesn't overthink...
