Giving back through your business

In a recent discussion with Real Estate Agents around Tasmania I asked the question:

Is giving back to your community important to you and something that you encourage throughout your team?

The response was overwhelming of giving back to their local community and one that I am not sure that people may associate with real estate agents.

????Why would you give your time freely? ⏰

????Why would you give money? ????

????Why would you sponsor an event?

Many of us have been conditioned “to give to get” and a way that many people operate in business and in their life.

One is a “What’s in it for me?” attitude and the other is  “How can I contribute and make a difference?” attitude.  Which attitude do you operate from in your business?

A variety of ways that the real estate industry is giving back to its community every year within Tasmania ranges from and are not limited to :

·     Volunteering at Salvation Army and feeding homeless

·     Sponsorship to local sports groups

·     Silent Auctions

·     Winter Relief

·     Charity Sail Days

·     Flying Doctors

·     Internal Assistance fund to employees who experience hard times

·     Worthwhile causes in local areas

·     Toys and gifts each year in hospital for the children and their families.

·     Homelessness crisis food provisions, swags and supplies

·     World greatest shave

·     Involvement in community groups junior

·     Community gardens and men’s sheds

·     Providing funds for less fortunate

Is there ever a “right time”?

Is there ever a “right time”?

People often tell themselves  that they are  too busy, too early, too late, or I’ll start "when the time is right." But what if time isn't the problem? Nature doesn't hesitate. A tree knows when to let go of its leaves and when to grow new ones. It doesn't overthink...
