My experience in Africa…

What do you welcome?

I was so moved by my recent trip to Kenya. (Here’s a great video of me in a village in Kilifi)

Everyone I spoke to smiled, was friendly and open, from the hotel to the villages – every interaction was warm and welcoming.

When I caught a cab to the airport I mentioned this to the driver. He said that when Kenya gained their independence in 1963 the President asked all people to welcome all of the visitors with all of their hearts. They are still doing just that.

For many people who appear to have the bare minimum there is a richness and open heartedness that cannot be brought with money. A gratitude that is heartfelt and real.

Have a wonderful week ahead 😀
